Legal Compliance in E-Commerce: KVKK, Cookies and Agreements
What does Esoltec provide for legal compliance? In Esoltec, the legal screens your store needs come ready: visitors see a cookie consent banner, a KVKK data protection notice is shown, and acceptance of the distance sales agreement and the preliminary information form is collected at checkout and recorded with the order. The KVKK notice, terms of use, returns and privacy policy pages are created during setup but come empty; you fill in the texts for your own business in the admin panel.

What you can do in the panel
Cookie consent and KVKK
Visitors see a cookie consent banner on their first visit; they accept or reject all cookies, and their choice is stored for 365 days. You change the banner's text, buttons and appearance in the theme editor.
Agreement acceptance at checkout
Acceptance of the distance sales agreement is collected at the checkout step and recorded with the order.
Legal pages ready, the text is yours
The KVKK privacy notice, terms of use, distance sales agreement, and return and privacy policy pages are created during setup; their content comes empty. You fill in the texts for your own business on the Settings › Legal Texts screen.

Edit your legal texts
On the Settings › Legal Texts screen, you fill in the empty texts with your own details.

Set up the cookie banner
In the theme editor, under General Settings › Modals › Cookie Consent, you set the banner's text, buttons and appearance.

Complete your store information
Your legal business details are entered on the Settings › Store Info screen.
Frequently asked questions
Does esoltec write the legal texts?
No. The pages are created for you, but their content comes empty; you write the text for your business, and you are expected to have your own legal advisor review it before publishing.
How does the cookie consent banner work?
The banner is shown on the visitor's first visit; the visitor accepts or rejects all cookies, and the choice is stored for 365 days. There is no screen for setting preferences by category. In basic consent mode, Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager don't load until consent is given. You decide the banner's text and which cookies you use.
Is there support for the preliminary information form and ETBİS (Turkey's e-commerce registry)?
A ready-made preliminary information form is on the roadmap. Today, you can add the preliminary information form yourself with “New Legal Document” on the Settings › Legal Texts screen and have customers accept it at checkout; distance sales agreement acceptance is also collected at checkout. You register with ETBİS (Turkey's e-commerce registry) yourself, through the Ministry of Trade's system.
Who owns my store's data?
The data in your store belongs to you; esoltec processes it on your behalf, as a data processor. Each store runs on its own database.
